excellent food

Mum said make sure the seafood is good as she and my visiting cousin from Australia are fond of it. Everybody very satisfied with snails as starters, 2 mixed seafood dishes, a calamari dish and two sea bream plates. Le Malte was a great choice. Did not put 10 on service only because swordfish (my dad s favourite) was not available on this day. But the Awrata was great.

Food was excellent, we had fillet of beef big portion and done well as we have ordered and spare ribes, and I have enjoyed it.In the restaurant we were alone lunch time but the Italian waiter hardly came on our table just served food and went away.

We went for a Sunday lunch. As usual, a plate with appetisers is offered. Then I took traditional rabbit stew. This was cooked to perfection. My wife ordered lampuki which was very nicely cooked. Service was good and we did not wait very long. As dessert we had lemon cheesecake which was delicious. Although the place is not very big, yet we were comfortable. The staff are nice and friendly and we had no problem using Gusto. We recommend this place.

we ordered 3 rib-eye and 2 seafood platters. we recommend the seafood platter as it was very good and had a good portion. 2 of the rib-eyes were very chewy and though to eat.

Very Good Food

I went with my wife to Le Malte. I ordered bragjoli which were really tasty. My wife ordered rabbit. She had quite a good portion and it was very tender and delicious. Before, we were complemented with a maltese traditional platter. Very nice too. The service was good. We did not wait too long for the plates to come. Although on a Saturday evening, presenting Gusto was no problem. The atmosphere was cosy and family friendly. We enjoyed it a lot and hope to be there again soon.

Was there on a saturday evening. The food was very good, sadly was a bit disjointed, partly because my wife likes her beef very well done but also the potatoes and veg arrived way too late. Just two waiting staff for about 40 covers is pushing it but overall quite a delightful experience. Little things would really spice this place up like changing to disposable paper tablecloths and replacing or discarding the plastic flowers on the tables. Notwithstanding this does in no way detract from its overall value.

The food was good as well as the service. We had rabbit and mixed grill. Both were cooked to perfection. They gave us also a complimentary plate as starter including bigilla, goat cheese, olives,maltese sausage and galletti.We recommend this restaurant.

One simply cannot go wrong at Le Malte. This was our forth visit and as always the Beef Fillet and Rib-eye steaks were beautifully done and served. Nice portions as well. Complimentary Maltese style hors d'oeuvres. Very good service from both the kitchen staff and the waiting staff. Surely be back.

the staff greeted us and we felt very comfortable. the menu is more tourist based but still gave it a shot. but disappointed with the food. mussels were extremely salty and we asked for a rare fillet and got a med. complained and the dish was changed although with a comment from the waiter, stating please next time ask for blue. anyways the place has the potential but needs new plates and wine glasses. the plate we were served was chipped and when we commented about the wine glass which had a defect, well the waiter said that when he cleans them he always thinks there is something wrong with it, but its just the GLASS!!

Plenty of appetisers offered for free before the actual dinner. Both main courses namely rabbit and fish were superbly cooked, tasty, abundant and presented. I rated the ambience 8 just because my wife and me like a more illuminated place to eat.

visited le malte for the first time. overall we really enjoyed it. very good food, nice ambiance, definately one of the good places in Sliema where to enjoy traditional maltese food, the place is nice and cosy and we will definately visit again!

Decided to visit this restaurant after I read the positive comments on this website. Food was good but was very disappointed indeed with Le Malte service today! Sat at our table at 13:05. Starters came at 14:40 after having to switch tables two times!

The waiting period at this restaurant is quite long and they always have an excuse with lack of staff who did not turn up but then the food is worth waiting for.

Both our beef fillets with there respective sauces were very good. Very friendly and efficient staff.

I've always wanted to go to this restaurant but for some funny reason I thought there would be enough space and may be fully booked... Well thanks to Gusto I went there on a Friday and it was very comfy and not very busy...I love it and the food is marvellous especially the ravioli...

The homemade ravioli were divine... I love homemade pasta and always try it when available on the menu. Waiter was very polite and nice :) Restaurant can be described as cosy as regards to ambience.
